II. Technology developed for Yield Enhancement |
- Management of soybean pest complex
New insecticides, Indoxacarb 14.5 SC @ 300ml /ha, Profenophos 50 EC @ 1.25 lit/ha, Lamda Cyhalothrin 5 EC @ 300ml/ha and Methomyl 40 SP @ 1.00 kg/ha recorded the minimum damage by pest complex (semi loopers, grey semilooper Gsonia gemma and green semilooper Chrysodeixis acuta) and also maximum grain.
- Integrated pest management in soybean
Seed treatment with thiomethoxam 70 WS @ 3g/kg seed; installation of bird perches followed by foliar spray of NSKE @ 5% or Bt @ 1 lit/ha at flowering and need based application of Quinalphos 25 EC @1.5 lit.l, or Triazophos 40EC@ 0.800 lit/ha control the pest complex of soybean eco-friendly with minimum yield loss, results in high yield and economic return.
- Weed control in soybean
Spraying of post emergence herbicides viz, quizalofop ethyl 5 EC 5g/ ha, Imazethapyr 10 EC 75 g/ ha, chlorimuron ethyl 25 WP 9 g/ ha and fenoxyprop-p- ethyl 10 EC 100 g/ ha after 20-25 days of sowing control the weeds effectively in standing crop of soybean.
- Integrated plant nutrient management in chickpea
Application of Rhizobium + PSB + 100% RDF (20:50:20:20 NPKS kg/ha) or Rhizobium (5 g / kg seed) + 2.5 ton compost/ha + 50% RDF +PSB inoculation (5 g / kg seed) with recommended dose of nitrogen and sulphur can be applied depending on the availability of indigenous compost for optimum seed yield in chickpea.
- Use of Molybdenum along with Rhizobium+PSB in chickpea for higher yield
In an experiment conducted from 2004-05 to 2006-07 on biofertilizers efficiency with micronutrients supplementation at AICRP on Chickpea, Sehore in medium black soils of Vindhyan plateau having <0.016 ppm Acid ammonium acetate +EDTA extractable Mo (below critical limit of 0.2 ppm), the application of Ammonium molybdate @ 1.0 kg/ha along with Rhizobium +PSB +RDF i.e.20:17:16:20 NPKS/ha, increased the seed yield of chickpea grown under limited irrigation on an average by 35.0% (3 years data basis 2004-05, 2006-07). Since Ammonium molybdate is a costly fertilizer and its dose @ 1 kg/ha in soil application may be difficult for the farmers to use and therefore in order to reduce the cost another experiment was conducted from 2007-08 to 2008-09 by using Ammonium molybdate at lower dose (1.0 g/kg seed) as seed treatment along with Rhizobium +PSB which was found effective and remunerative giving an additional yield increase of 409 kg/ha with a net return of Rs 7098/ha over control. Hence, this technology has been recommended wherever soil is deficient in Molybdenum for obtaining higher yields of chickpea. Further, this can be tested under multi-location testing for different soils and agro-climatic conditions for wider adaptability.
- Identification of lentil with pathogen races
One hundred forty six pathogenic isolates of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lentis were
characterized for morphological, cultural and pathogenic variability from Madhya
Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Jharkhand. Differentials for studying pathogenic
variability were identified for the first time and efforts have been made to identify
races of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lentis. Presence of four variants of this pathogen
identified in above lentil growing areas.
- Nematodes resistance in pigeonpea
JKM 186 and JKM 189 identified as resistant to root knot nematodes viz, Meloidogyne
incogita and M. javanica.
- Wilt management in pigeon pea
Seed treatment with Vitavax @ 2 g/Kg seed + Tricoderma sp. @ 4 g/Kg seed effectively
managed the Fusarium wilt. Capsule Borer Management in Safflower: Newer insecticides,
thiomethoxam 25 WG @ 0.005%, imidacloprid 77.8% SL @ 0.0045% and acetamiprid 20
SP @ 0.004% after 50-70 days of sowing control the capsule borer effectively in
safflower.
- Guar based remunerative crop sequence
Guar - wheat crop rotation is more remunerative in grid zone at 75% recommended
dose of fertilizers with a saving of 26 Kg P2O5 /ha in guar and 30 Kg N/ha in wheat.
- Conservation of soil moisture
Glyricidia green leaves mulch has been found effective in conserving soil moisture
and enhancing productivity of soybean-safflower sequence in medium deep vertisols
under dry land conditions.
- Registration of pearl millet varieties under PPV & FRA
Two nationwide released varieties of pearl millet viz; JBV 2 and JBV3 have been
registered in PPV & FRA, New Delhi with the registration No. 00063 and 000161
respectively.
- Management of pearl millet Downy mildew
Pearl millet seed dressing with talc based formulation of Bacillus pumilis @ 8 gm
+ Chitosan @ 2.5 gm per kg. seed was found effective in reducing downy mildew incidence.
- Aphid management of safflower
Spraying of thiomethoxam 25WG @ 0.005% imidacloprid 17.8%SL @ 0.0045% and acctamiprid
20SP @ 0.004% at 50 to 70 days after sowing was found beneficial for the management
of aphid and increasing the seed yield of safflower.
- Integrated pest management of mustard
The highest seed yield of mustard (1889 kg/ha) was found in foliar application of
Oxy-dematon methyl @1 ml/1 water when Aphid population reaches at E.T.L.
- Integrated nutrient management of lentil
Application of recommended dose of fertilizer (20:17:20:20 NPKS/ha) along with FYM
5 t/ha recorded maximum seed yield (927 kg/ha) followed by recommended dose of fertilizer
along with vermin compost @ 2 t/ha (901 kg/ha).
- Evaluation of models in soybean –wheat system
In soybean – wheat system, an increase in grain yield of 7.1 % was observed when
fertilizers were applied on the basis of soil test in comparison with the model
of recommended dose of fertilizer (RDF) and package of practices. On an average,
the savings of nutrients were in the tune of 11 kg of P2O5 and 17 kg of K2O/ annum
in the system. Integrated weed management also recorded 3.5 % more yield than RDF.
- Nutrient management in cluster bean
For higher yield and economic returns, cluster bean should be supplied with 25 kg
ZnSo4/ha as basal application, where soils are deficient in Zn. In case the Zn is
not given at sowing, it can be supplemented by one foliar spray of 0.5 % ZnSo4 between
25 to 35 days after sowing.
- Effect of bio regulators in soybean
Application of salicylic acid @ 50 ppm recorded higher grain yield of soybean (2277
kg/ha) followed by application of Etherel @ 200 ppm of (2260 kg/ha). The net return
was higher in application of salicylic acid and BC ratio was higher in Etherel application.
Among the stage of application, bio regulators applied at both stages (flower +
pod initiation) gave higher yields.
- Insect pest management in soybean
Rynaxypyr 20SC @ 150 ml/ha, 87.5ml/ha, and Methomil 40SP@1kg/ha were found effective
against grey & green semiloopers and girdle beetle in soybean and gave higher
yield as compared to control.
- Management of myrothecium leaf blight in cotton
Foliar application of copper oxychloride @ 0.3 % + streptocycline 100 ppm at 30,
60 and 90 days after sowing was found most effective in controlling myrothecium
leaf blight in cotton followed by seed treatment with talc powder formulation of
Pseudomonas fluorescens @ 10 gm. per kg. seed + foliar spray @ of 0.2 % on 30, 40,
50, 60, 70, 80 and 90 days after sowing.
